SScott Tucker-owned Level 5 Motorsports is definitely the 1st American Le Mans Prototype (LMP) admittance inside the Le Mans circuit in Twenty-five years, and realizing he’s a pioneer, Tucker has made positive the team’s-and the country’s-debut from the series is established for achievement.
When Tucker and mentor/co-driver Christophe Bouchut took the opportunity to compete in the LMP class of American Le Mans and Intercontinental Le Mans Cup in 2010, they finished the season with a class championship win, which bumped them to the LMP2 class for the current year. To start off the season strong, Tucker added LMP2 veteran Luis Diaz to the mix. Diax, of Mexico, had been racing LMP2s since 2007, when he raced a Lola B06/43-Acura for Fernandez Racing and won the class championship in 2009.

Scott Tucker was determined to race Level 5 Motorsports’ new HPD ARX-01g car the second he could. That determination was evident when he and his awesome team decided to wait until the very last possible minute to produce a sound decision on the 6 hours of Silverstone race: It was all or nothing. Unfortunately, cost-capped wheels for the car weren’t available in time for Level 5 to maintain its entry in Silverstone; Tucker withdrew. “I knew there was a risk in waiting for the parts, with them not being guaranteed,” Tucker states. “But the car is undoubtedly the best vehicle performance-wise that we can get, so I was determined to give it a shot. The HPD engine and chassis combination has proved to be the best over the years. We feel very comfortable and confident in making this unprecedented and decisive move.” Determination, risk, and refusing to settle for anything but the best-sounds a bit like racing.

The Level 5 Motorsports team’s 2011 year has proven it a versatile, dominant team stocked with natural talent, skill and drive. Commanding the podium at the most of the events it entered-including winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and podium at Imola and Sebring, among others-is evidence that the Scott Tucker-owned, Microsoft Office-sponsored team has found a fantastic formula in its schedule, race strategy and drivers, including Tucker, Luis Diaz and Christophe Bouchut. While they began the last quarter of an already unbelievable season with the ModSpace American Le Mans Monterey provided by Patron mid-September, all their ducks appeared to be in a row: their formula had been proven all the time as dependable for an effective winning effort. But this race included one wild card, or wild car, as the case might be-the team would finally debut the HPD ARX-01g they had announced they were switching to mid-season.

A few months ago, the Scott Tucker-owned racing team Level 5 Motorsports prepared for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a important endurance race in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup series. As with any team, Level 5 geared to win. But surprisingly, the group opted out from the option to qualify for a starting position in the race, instead taking the dead last spot for its 2 Microsoft Office-sponsored LMP2 cars, Nos. 55 and 95.
“Qualifying for a 24-hour race is meaningless,” explained a Level 5 mechanic at the time. “Anything that’s not directly related to winning, we’re going to opt out of.”
